Dr. Kathmann was born and raised in the New Orleans metro area – Kenner to be specific and completed his undergraduate and Master’s degree at Loyola University and Tulane University respectively.  He graduated from the LSU School of Medicine New Orleans in 2012 where he then completed an Emergency Medicine residency in 2016. Dr. Kathmann continued his training by completing a Wound Care and Hyperbaric Fellowship at the country’s largest program in 2017. 

He then began his career at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport in the Summer of 2017 where he began working in both the emergency medicine and hyperbarics/wound care departments. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine through the American Board of Emergency Medicine and board certified in the sub-specialty of Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine. In 2023, Dr. Kathmann became the Director of the Wound Care and Hyperbaric department at Memorial Hospital. 

Dr. Kathmann currently lives in Gulfport, MS with his wife and daughter. In his free time he enjoys exercise and practicing golf.  He also enjoys spending time with his family through outdoor activities and traveling to new places.
